In reply to CP1005 • May 8, 2017. I have shot the 5D Mk 4 with the Sigma 50-500mm, the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary, original Tamron 150-600mm and the Tamron 150-600mm G2. I settled on the G2 and have been very happy with the results. GriffinClubMerv's gear list:
" I just picked up a used Canon EF 1.4x II extender and attached it to a Tamron G2 70-200 f/2.8 lens." It makes more sense to get a Sigma Tamron tel-con for a Sigma Tamron lens, doesn't it? The Canon 1.4x tel-con only works with prime lenses except for a very few zooms. The 17-40mm and 24-105mm are not one of those few. The Sigma 150-600 Sport focuses quite fast on a Nikon D300 and blazing fast on a Nikon D500. The bare Nikon 300mm f2.8 may be a touch faster, hard to differentiate a difference and the same is true with the 1.4x TC. The Sigma 150-600 Contemporary for Canon with Fringer EF to Fuji X is blazing fast on my Fuji X-T3. Testing the Sigma 150-600 with the Canon EOS R5. Tronhard. Elite. In particular the comments that the very popular Sigma 150-600c has focusing issues on the RF mount. I like the look/price of the 150-600 sigma. How would the sigma at 600 compare to canon at 400 cropped? would the sigma be a lot better? My 70-200/2.8L IS II + 2x TC III at f/6.3 is as good as the 400/5.6 at f/5.6. The Sigma C out-resolves it at f/7.1, but only if other sources of blur (out-of-focus blur and motion blur) are virtually absent. gG2sq. 118 98 28 183 295 212 368 140 27
